Brady won't comment on Trump's victory

Donald Trump won Tuesday's presidential election, so, naturally, Tom Brady was asked about the events Wednesday.

The New England Patriots quarterback wouldn't comment on his relationship with the president-elect or his feelings on the results of America's votes.

"I'm just going to talk about football this week," Brady said at a press conference.

The questions aren't without merit, as Brady has publicly called Trump "a good friend." However, with the election heating up, Brady's wife, Gisele Bundchen, said this week the couple would not be voting for Trump.

"I talked to my wife, she said I can't talk about politics anymore," Brady said when asked who he supported in the race.

Trump namedropped Brady and Patriots' coach Bill Belichick while campaigning in New Hampshire on Monday, but Brady wouldn't clarify whether he gave the Republican candidate the go ahead to do so.

"Why did I give him permission? So you're assuming I gave people permission?" Brady said.

It seems the Patriots have realized any political talk won't benefit them in any way on the football field.
