Arjen Robben has elected to remain with Bayern Munich in order to work on his fitness rather than join his Dutch teammates for Wednesday's friendly match.

Netherlands manager Danny Blind gave his captain permission to miss the country's friendly against Beglium, as Robben remained in Munich to train his his Bayern teammates.

Robben, however, is expected back with the national team ahead of Sunday's World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg.

"I want Robben at 100 percent against Luxembourg," Blind told reporters, according Mark Lovell of ESPNFC.

Robben - who has battled injuries throughout the last year - was forced to miss Holland's qualifiers in October because of a rib injury.
