By the numbers: Kentucky sets scoring record in astonishing fashion
Kentucky made history Sunday night, rewriting its record books at the expense of Asbury.
And there's the record. At 144 UK has now score more points tonight than it has in any game in school history (exhibition or regular season)

This game was never close. The Wildcats set Kentucky's single-game scoring record with 156 points in the 156-63 exhibition victory over the Eagles.
Here are the craziest numbers and feats from Sunday's absolute shellacking:
8 Kentucky players scored in double digits
The Wildcats certainly spread the ball around Sunday night, as eight different players registered 10 or more points. Not a single Kentucky player reached the 20-minute mark in playing time.
Player | Points | Minutes |
---|---|---|
De'Aaron Fox | 25 | 17 |
Mychal Mulder | 20 | 19 |
Wenyen Gabriel | 16 | 18 |
Malik Monk | 15 | 17 |
Derek Willis | 14 | 15 |
Sacha Killeya-Jones | 13 | 15 |
Isaiah Briscoe | 11 | 17 |
Tai Wynyard | 10 | 11 |
The Wildcats outshot the Eagles by 46 percent
The discrepancy between team shooting in this game was remarkable. Kentucky was able to make an impressive 69 percent from the field, while Asbury only managed to sink 23 percent of its attempts. Strangely enough, Kentucky only hit 32 percent from beyond the arc, while Asbury was a brutal 16 percent.
Asbury shooters got rejected ... a lot
Kentucky blocked 19 shots, led by Sacha Killeya-Jones who rejected four, while six other Wildcats sent back multiple attempts. It's extremely difficult to put points on the board if the ball never gets to the basket - just ask Asbury forward Daulton Peters:

Kentucky put up 88 in the 1st half
It's curious to imagine a coach's locker room speech while trailing 88-25 at halftime. The Wildcats must have felt bad, because they only tallied 68 points after the break.
Wildcats made more dunks than Asbury did shots
Both rims were severely punished Sunday evening, as the Wildcats threw down a total of 29 dunks, according to Gary Parrish of CBS Sports. Asbury only made 22 field goals as a team.
Here's one of the Kentucky throwdowns, courtesy of Malik Monk. Look out below:
