Leicester groundsmen mow poppy designs on King Power Stadium pitch

Leicester City's famous grounds crew took the opportunity Sunday to honour Remembrance Day, mowing the King Power Stadium pitch in poppy designs.

The subject of wearing poppies sparked controversy this week after FIFA told England it couldn't wear the badge on its jerseys for an upcoming World Cup qualifier against Scotland.

The FAs of both countries said they would defy FIFA's mandate on so-called "political statements," but the Premier League has gone ahead and paid tribute to those who died in the line of duty during the First World War.

English sides observed a minute's silence and wore special kits with poppies printed on them this weekend, and Leicester's pitch - known for its circular and diagonal designs - was adorned with some of their own.
