Report: Roethlisberger appears 'on track' to return vs. Ravens

All signs continue to point toward Ben Roethlisberger making his return less than three weeks after surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback appears "on track" to start Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens after practicing in a limited capacity for a second straight team session Thursday, a source told Ed Bouchette of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Roethlisberger's participation level and the third and final practice of the week Friday will presumably decide his status once and for all.

Either way, last week's bye couldn't have come at a better time for the veteran signal-caller and a Steelers team looking to rebound from a disappointing two-game stretch.

Roethlisberger getting back under center this week, even if with limited mobility, would be a considerable upgrade to a Pittsburgh passing attack that's among the NFL's most explosive when healthy.

The two-time Super Bowl champion had completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 1,685 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions before sustaining the knee injury in a Week 6 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
