Report: Chelsea willing to loan out Fabregas in January

Chelsea is hoping to find a taker for midfielder Cesc Fabregas in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Blues are ready to pay a percentage of his wages as part of any prospective loan deal, according to The Times' Matt Hughes.

Considering the Spaniard is nothing more than a substitute for Antonio Conte's side, Fabregas' current £160,000-a-week salary is a burden on the west London outfit. Only Eden Hazard and Diego Costa earn more on a weekly basis, and they have both regained form under Conte.

Hughes emphasises Fabregas hasn't had any disagreement with the Italian manager, only that he lacks the physical and technical attributes to fit into a 3-4-3 formation.

AC Milan tried to secure the 29-year-old in the final hours of the summer transfer window, but Chelsea executives couldn't agree to a payment structure.

The Rossoneri - who are expected to have around £90 million to spend in the winter - are still reportedly interested in signing Fabregas. Juventus is also considered to be in the mix.

Chelsea currently has 37 players out on loan at various clubs around Europe, but rarely has the club opted to subsidise a player's move away.

It did, however, strike a similar agreement with Milan over the signing of Fernando Torres in 2014.

Fabregas has made just a single Premier League start this season. He's also missed several matches with a nagging thigh problem.
