Canadiens send Sergachev back to OHL

Mihail Sergachev's first foray into the NHL is over.

The Montreal Canadiens have assigned the defenseman to the OHL's Windsor Spitfires, the NHL club announced Monday.

He played in three of the Canadiens' first nine games after making the team out of training camp along with fellow rookie Artturi Lehkonen.

Montreal selected Sergachev ninth overall in June's draft.
