Westbrook records 1st 50-point triple-double since Kareem

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook scored 51 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out 10 assists Friday as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Phoenix Suns 113-110 in overtime. Westbrook's layup with seven seconds left in the extra period sealed it.

It was the first 50-point triple-double in the NBA since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975. Westbrook scored 23 points in the third quarter alone, a team record for a period since the Thunder arrived in Oklahoma eight years ago.

While his shooting was not particularly efficient - his 51 points came on 44 shots - Russ dropped some brilliant dimes in the game.
