Amid conflicting reports concerning the length of time Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson is expected to miss, head coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Friday the team will make a decision within 24 hours.

ESPN's Adam Schefter also reported the Broncos will soon make the decision on whether or not to put Anderson on injured reserve, which would keep him out at least eight weeks. That timeline could potentially still see Anderson return before the regular season ends.

"He had the repair done and everything went well," Kubiak told the media, regarding Anderson's Thursday surgery, according to a team transcript. "He's going to miss some significant time. Obviously we're in conversations right now on how much time that is going to be and what we are going to do.

"That will probably be decided here in the next 24 hours when John (Elway) and I visit with 'Greek' (Head Athletic Trainer Steve Antonopulos). That’s where we're at."

Schefter reported earlier Friday that Anderson's surgery was considered minor, and that he could return as early as four weeks.

In a conflicting report, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Anderson would be out long-term, possibly beginning to jog in six weeks.

A third report said Anderson could miss anywhere from two-to-eight weeks, as it's considered too early to be more specific, sources told ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio.

Rookie Devontae Booker is expected to carry the load in Anderson's absence.
