Where does Jags-Titans rank among worst prime-time games of 2016?

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

If you've had something better to do with your Thursday, Sunday, and Monday nights than watch football this season, you haven't missed much.

This year's prime-time games have been brutal. Sloppy play, lopsided scores, and listless offenses have invaded the time slot once reserved for Game of the Year candidates. Week 8's Thursday-nighter was no different, as the talented yet disappointing Jacksonville Jaguars took on the boring yet surprisingly competent Tennessee Titans.

How bad was that game in comparison to five other terrible prime-time games? Let's take a look:

1. Week 1 - MNF: 49ers 28, Rams 0

In the Rams' first game since moving to L.A., they actually made the 49ers look good. San Fran scored 28 points, despite their quarterback only passing for 170 yards, while holding Todd Gurley to 42 yards rushing.

Worst stat: Case Keenum and Blaine Gabbert combined for 300 passing yards.

2. Week 3 - TNF: Patriots 27, Texans 0

Have you ever seen a third-string quarterback lead a blowout win with only 103 yards passing? Have you ever wanted to? Probably not.

Brock Osweiler became the second quarterback ever to throw 40 attempts and not break 200 yards in this game. He's done that three times so far this season (twice in prime time).

Worst stat: The Texans only crossed the 50-yard line twice.

3. Week 8 - TNF: Titans 36, Jaguars 22

Dressed in uniforms that were most certainly burned after the game, the king of garbage time, Blake Bortles, made this score seem close with his typical too-late heroics. Before that, the Jags made long-term interim coach Mike Mularkey look like a strategical genius over three quarters for simply calling run plays.

Worst stat: The Jaguars' leading rusher: Bortles (22 yards on four attempts).

4. Week 6 - MNF: Cardinals 28, Jets 3

The battle of 2008 Bengals (4-11-1) quarterbacks didn't make either passer look great, with Ryan Fitzpatrick getting the late hook and Carson Palmer finishing with more fumbles than touchdowns. If you had David Johnson (138 yards, three TDs) on your fantasy team, this might have been fun, but other than that, it was just plain ugly.

Worst stat: The teams combined for 19 penalties, totaling 127 yards.

5. Week 5 - MNF: Buccaneers 17, Panthers 14

With no Cam Newton in the lineup and Jameis Winston regressing, the only amusing thing about this game was watching how many field goals second-round pick Roberto Aguayo could miss.

Worst stat: The Buccaneers traded away their third- and fourth-round picks to draft a kicker in the second round who was deemed a hero for hitting three field goals under 40 yards after missing two very makeable kicks.

6. Week 3 - SNF: Cowboys 31, Bears 17

The Bears, who have one win, will play their fourth prime-time game of the season Monday. Why? Why are you putting us through this torture, NFL? What did we do to you?

Worst stat: Three Cowboys players not named Ezekiel Elliott scored a rushing touchdown.
