World Series tickets at Wrigley going for over $12,000

Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

Waiting 71 years was slow and painful for Chicago Cubs fans to endure, and now that the team is back in the World Series, bank accounts are going to take a hit.

Any fans looking to sit field level along either baseline for Game 3 of the World Series at Wrigley Field will have to pay anywhere from $9,500 to $13,000, according to Ticket IQ.

Those looking for a "bargain" might be in luck, as the cheapest ticket - a standing-room option - is going for just over $2,000. The most expensive ticket is in section 17, which is directly behind home plate, and has an asking price slightly under $15,000.

The Cleveland fan base have it a little easier, however, as standing-room tickets for Game 1 are currently being sold for $750, with the most expensive ticket going for $5,550.
