It took nearly two hours longer than expected, but the Heritage Classic between the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers finally got underway Sunday.

The start time for the outdoor game at Investors Group Field was officially delayed, reportedly due to glare.

Warmups started around 3 p.m. CT (4 p.m. ET), and the puck dropped at 3:53 p.m. CT - the latest possible start time, as NHL executive Colin Campbell told Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman earlier in the afternoon.

The game was originally scheduled to start just after 2 p.m. CT.
