So, this is crazy.

Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jeff Zatkoff suffered a groin injury during the morning skate, and all indications are he won't suit up against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.

That means:

  • Ontario Reign - the Kings' farm team - starter Jack Campbell will head to Los Angeles and back up Saturday's expected starter Peter Budaj.
  • Jonah Imoo will start for the Reign on Saturday against the San Jose Barracuda.
  • Dusty Imoo, the Reign's goalie coach - and Jonah's father - will dress as the backup goaltender. Seriously.

"This could set some kind of hockey history," Reign head coach Mike Stothers said, according to Reign reporter Lindsay Czarnecki.

The start will be Imoo's first in the AHL. His father will have one of the best seats in the building, and it will undoubtedly be a night to remember for the family.
