Howard still trying to win over West Virginia fans: 'I get booed here'

Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

Home, sweet home - unless you're Skyler Howard and home is West Virginia.

The senior quarterback is playing the best ball of his career this season for the undefeated Mountaineers, but he's still unsure if he's won over his team's fan base.

"Sometimes I don't feel like I'm at home," he told Mike Casazza of the Charleston Gazette-Mail on Friday while going through final preparations for a home game against TCU.

"I get booed here more than I do at away games. It's - whatever. I'm going to play ball no matter what. For me, to call it a home game, I don't know if it matters."

Howard, who's won nine of his last 10 games at Mountaineer Field, has drawn plenty of cheers this season, but has received his fair share of jeers at times in the past.
