San Diego State suspends 3 players indefinitely for violating team rules

San Diego State wiped the floor with San Jose State on Friday in a 42-3 blowout victory, however the Aztecs were forced to deal with some hindering problems earlier in the day.

Head coach Rocky Long confirmed following the game that junior cornerbacks Derek Babiash and Billy Vaughn Jr., and junior defensive lineman Fred Melifonwu were suspended indefinitely following an unspecified violation of team rules, according to Tod Leonard of The San Diego Union-Tribune.

"We've got to get all the facts together," Long said. "Once we have all the facts, a decision will be made permanently."

All three were among a group of five players who received six-game suspensions at the beginning of last season for violating team rules.

Babiash appeared in five games this season with 24 total tackles. He also recorded consecutive interceptions in his previous three games. Vaughn has two appearances this season with two total tackles.
