Here are the fantasy implications following the news that Arizona WR John Brown is doubtful to play in Week 7 due to a sickle cell issue:

Brown's availability is highly unlikely considering his issue stems from a serious medical condition rather than just a normal football injury. His diagnosis with sickle cell was only just revealed this week as blood tests showed the disease present in his leg. Playing through sickle cell is possible, however. Former Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark played 13 seasons with the disease.

With Sunday right around the corner, fantasy owners need to plan as though Brown will be unavailable. The third-year pro hasn't practiced this week, and the news of his absence should come either on Saturday afternoon or pre-game Sunday.

The impact in Arizona

Without Brown, Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd will be the unquestioned first and second options through the air. While Brown's injury doesn't have a major impact on Fitzgerald, Floyd becomes a stable WR3 play this week. He should assume a few more targets and receptions in Brown's absence. A matchup against Seattle limits his ceiling, but a line of 5-75-1 isn't out of reach.

Daily fantasy players should avoid the Arizona passing game with such a tough matchup, and QB Carson Palmer still looking unsettled. Third-string WR J.J. Nelson will serve as a contrarian play, but he's caught just four balls this season for 51 yards. Roster him as a flier that allows you to spend on another superstar if you must.

Waiver Wire Targets

WR Kenny Britt, Rams

  • Britt's ownership has skyrocketed to near 50 percent recently. Though he broke out last week with 7-132-2, Britt had accumulated a respectable 23 catches and 356 in the five games prior. As L.A.'s WR1, Britt is a stable option having posted 60-plus yards in all but one contest.

WR Kendall Wright, Titans

  • The Titans are starving for a real receiver to help QB Marcus Mariota. Wright could be that guy after last week's 8-133-1 performance against Cleveland. Increasing his role in the offense shouldn't be difficult. He's spent his entire five-year career in Tennessee and posted a 1,000-yard season in 2013.

Pierre Garcon, Redskins

  • Garcon is a low-ceiling option, who is unlikely to top even 80 yards. Luckily, he's a decent target in PPR formats with 28 catches on the year and 11 in the past two weeks. Garcon isn't going to single-handedly win your fantasy matchup, but he can be an adequate fill-in. Washington draws Detroit's abysmal pass defense this week.
