Klay Thompson upset over anonymous 'cowards' quote

All Klay Thompson wants is a little accountability in this world.

In a recent ESPN piece by Ethan Sherwood Strauss, a "team official" was quoted as saying the Golden State Warriors played like "a bunch of cowards" in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, when forward Draymond Green was serving a suspension.

Being called a coward is insulting enough, but the sharpshooting guard won't accept not knowing who the individual behind the words was.

Per the Mercury News' Anthony Slater:

The article pissed me off for this reason. If you call someone a coward, how are you not going to put your name on that quote? It's easy to point at someone and call them a coward behind like a shade or a shield. But why don't you put your name to it and then you can call us cowards? That's fine. Tell us that. But to say we played like cowards and you're not going to quote the guy who said it, that's weak to me, man. How you gonna quote Mo (Speights) and not anyone else? That actually got under my skin. You're gonna call us cowards and not put your name on the quote? You know what I mean? You're not gonna quote who said it? Get out of here. That made me mad. We played our hearts out that whole playoffs and you're gonna call us cowards and not put your name on it. Get out of here.

Thompson dropped 37 points that night on 11-of-20 shooting from the field and 6-of-11 from behind the arc, but Golden State went on to lose the game by 15 points, with Cleveland Cavaliers stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving dropping 41 points apiece.
