Beneath his gruff exterior, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick seems to have a soft, humorous side.

Former Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather, who played for the team from 2007-2010, appeared on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher and Rich" show Wednesday, and shared a story about the time Belichick tried to expand his musical horizons.

As Meriweather recounted, Belichick had just listened to his rap single "V.I.P. on Swole" and decided he needed to be introduced to some "real music."

"He was like, 'I'mma put you together a CD of some real music so you can go listen to it.'"

Meriweather said he wasn't able to find the CD, but remembers it included songs from Tim McGraw, Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi.
