Report: Lawson partied at Vegas nightclub prior to missing Kings' flight

Troubled point guard Ty Lawson's stint with the Sacramento Kings has barely begun, but it's shaping up to be as rocky as his time in Houston.

Lawson was partying at Drai's nightclub in Las Vegas on Thursday night with teammates Ben McLemore and Willie Cauley-Stein, as well as boxer Adrien Broner, according to video obtained by TMZ Sports.

Lawson missed the team's flight to Kentucky for a preseason game the following day, with the Kings reportedly demanding that he explain himself and his absence. McLemore and Cauley-Stein both took the floor against the Washington Wizards on Oct. 15 at Rupp Arena in Lexington.

Sacramento listed Lawson as being away for "personal reasons." His agent, Happy Walters, told TMZ on Monday that the 28-year-old asked for and received permission from management to miss the flight.

Lawson was with the Kings on Monday afternoon for the team's practice.

He joined the organization over the offseason on a one-year, $1.31-million contract. He averaged 5.7 points and 3.6 assists over 66 appearances split between the Rockets and Indiana Pacers in 2015-16.
