The Saints and Panthers were trading blows in New Orleans on Sunday.
In the fourth quarter of a wild, back-and-forth affair, Saints quarterback Drew Brees found tight end Josh Hill for a touchdown to take the lead 38-31, and took a roughing the passer penalty in the process.
Brees took a hit from Panthers defensive lineman Kawann Short that left him bloodied.
The Saints went on to win the game 41-38 on a last-minute field goal.
