Agent: Barcelona has deal in place for Yerry Mina

Days after his looping late header handed Colombia a share of the spoils with Uruguay in a crucial World Cup qualifier, Palmeiras defender Yerry Mina reportedly has a pre-agreement in place with Barcelona.

At least that's what Mina's agent - and uncle - Jair Mina has claimed, acknowledging reports linking the centre-half with a move to the Catalan giant are true.

"Yes, a pre-agreement was signed and there's the possibility that the kid goes to Barcelona," Mina told Radio Caracol, courtesy of ESPN FC.

"It's only a pre-agreement, so there's still the chance that other teams (make an offer), so (a move to Barca) would depend on circumstances and the desire of the player. Other top European teams are interested."

Mina added that representatives from Barcelona met with him in Branquilla last week, months after the defending La Liga champ initially expressed an interest in signing the player. Instead, Barca made a loan move for Fluminense 21-year-old Marlon Santos, who has become a mainstay of Gerard Lopez's B team.

Should Mina fancy a continental switch, Mundo Deportivo is reporting the 22-year-old centre-back has a €9-million buyout clause with Palmeiras, which shouldn't pose much of an obstacle for Luis Enrique's lot, especially after dropping €56 million in total on bit-part defenders Aleix Vidal, Jeremy Mathieu, and Thomas Vermaelen.
