Hornacek won't install offense until Rose returns from rape trial

Jeff Hornacek doesn't want to start teaching a new offense without his starting point guard.

Instead of making due with what he has, the New York Knicks' bench boss is willing to "stall" the offense until the conclusion of Derrick Rose's rape trial.

"So we don’t go over it again when he’s here," Hornacek told Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News.

"As the point guard, you’re going to have to be the guy who sees everything, you’re the one who is going to have to make a decision."

With the regular season just a couple weeks away, Hornacek is hoping Rose's case wraps quickly so the 28-year-old can get a firm grasp of his "Triangle Aspects" system before opening night.

"Whenever it’s over, he’ll be here," Hornacek said. "So we’re hoping that’s sooner than later."

The Knicks have encouraged Rose to stay in Los Angeles until the verdict or final ruling.
