Saints' Cooks won't stop bow-and-arrow celebration despite Norman fine

Brandin Cooks isn't about to let the NFL's crackdown on celebrations take away his go-to move.

Despite the fact that Washington Redskins cornerback Josh Norman was recently fined for a similar action, Cooks told Larry Holder of The New Orleans Times-Picayune that he'll find a way to continue his bow-and-arrow gesture.

"I'm going to figure it out, but I'm not going to change it," Cooks said. "The league will have to deal with it. The reason for why I'm doing it and what's behind why I'm doing it doesn't have anything to do with violence. So I'm not going to change what I'm doing to satisfy what the league wants. That's not what I'm here to do."

Cooks has yet to be fined or penalized for the bow-and-arrow move over the past few years, but it would be difficult for the NFL to continue overlooking the celebration after coming down on Norman.

The young wideout went on to explain he doesn't want to put his team in danger of receiving a costly penalty, but reiterated that the NFL's ever-evolving restrictions aren't going to change what he does to celebrate his touchdowns.

"It's one of those things that they want to fine anything and get their little ... whatever they want," Cooks said. "They're not going to stop me."

Cooks and the rest of the Saints offense should have a number of opportunities to find the end zone in Sunday's matchup with a Carolina Panthers defense that's surrendering 27 points per game so far this season.
