LSU mascot Mike VI dies

LSU's mascot Mike VI has died after a brief battle with cancer, the school announced Tuesday.

Mike VI was diagnosed with cancer in May and moved into hospice care earlier this week. He was one of only two live Tiger mascots remaining in college football, and the only one living on a campus.
After coming to LSU in 2007, Mike lived next to Tiger stadium in his own facility. The university has begun the search for a new Tiger to replace Mike VI.
