Patriots' Bennett: Bears didn't win with me because they 'had a bunch of bitches'
Martellus Bennett is never shy about sharing his feelings, and the New England Patriots tight end didn't mince his words recently about his time with the Chicago Bears.
In a clip for an upcoming profile of him and his brother Michael Bennett, Martellus gave a characteristically succinct and colorful answer why the Bears didn't win more games during his time there.
"We just had a bunch of bitches on the roster," Bennett said, according to CBS Chicago. "That's why we didn't win games, and coaches liked the bitches."
Martellus also took aim at quarterback Jay Cutler and his lack of leadership abilities.
"Some guys that you want to be the leader, that's not the guy that's a leader," Martellus said. "Everyone in the locker room knows that this is not the leader, but this is what you want the face of the team to look like."
The Bears never finished above .500 in the tight end's three seasons with the club. Chicago traded him to New England this offseason, and he has 21 catches for 314 yards, and four touchdowns in five games this campaign.
