Report: Ehrhoff released from Bruins' PTO

Christian Ehrhoff's tryout with the Boston Bruins has come to an unsuccessful end.

The veteran defenseman wasn't ensured a spot in the Bruins' top six, and has opted to head home to Germany, reports TSN's Bob McKenzie.

Ehrhoff, 34, endured a trying season in 2015-16, spending five games in the AHL, and only recording 12 points in time split between the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks.
