Perry flattens Roberts to close out UFC 204 Fight Pass prelims
Welterweight Bout: Mike Perry def. Danny Roberts via 3rd-round KO
First Hyun Gyu Lim, now Danny Roberts can attest to the power in Mike Perry's right hand.
Perry landed a knee to the button and followed it with his deadly right mitt to keep his record unblemished. Sporting his newly inked nickname above his right eye, "Platinum" played aggressor from the opening bell, walking Roberts down in constant pursuit of a finish. The Floridian briefly took Roberts' back in Round 1, and closed out the frame with the first of several near finishes.

Roberts showed respect for Perry's knockout prowess early, opting to kickbox from range for the first round and change. The Brit's left hand didn't consistently hit pay dirt until late in Round 2, but was mistakenly prompted to abandon his strategy and eat more of Perry's strikes as a result.

The London native came out determined to stand and bang in the final frame, and true to his resume, Perry obliged him, handing Roberts his first loss inside the Octagon with the vicious KO he'd been seeking from the start.

Perry has won all of his eight career fights by knockout, while Roberts' UFC record falls to 2-1.
Lightweight Bout: Leonardo Santos def. Adriano Martins via split decision
With four months left in 2016, there's a new front-runner for worst fight of the year.
For 15 agonizing minutes, Leonardo Santos and Adriano Martins danced around each other in a bout that was mystifying in its sheer inactivity. Somehow, the judges were able to discern that Santos had done enough to win, awarding him a split-decision victory.

Santos remains undefeated in six UFC appearances. Even if this fight was one to forget, he has now officially won four straight.
From the start, both fighters were determined to do everything in their power to avoid risk and throw as few strikes as possible. Santos had some success with leg kicks, but Martins defended himself against the most damaging attacks.

Maybe it was the fact that the Manchester card was kicking off at 12:30 p.m. England time, or maybe it was a classic case of two Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belts forcing each other into a kickboxing contest. Either way, neither Santos or Martins impressed regardless of who won.
Santos called out fellow "Ultimate Fighter" winner Michael Chiesa following his victory, though it's difficult to imagine the matchmakers listening to him after the lackluster victory.
Martins had a three-fight win streak snapped, and his UFC record fell to 4-2.
