Northcutt-Gall set for UFC Sacramento

Mickey Gall's meticulously planned UFC rise is bearing fruit.

The UFC answered Gall's callout of fellow prospect Sage Northcutt on Thursday, announcing the welterweights are booked for December's UFC on FOX 22 in Sacramento, Calif.

Both fighters were discovered on president Dana White's series, "Lookin' for a Fight," with Gall challenging Northcutt moments after making short work of CM Punk at UFC 203. All of Gall's three pro wins have come by first-round rear-naked choke.

Northcutt's team took Gall up on the offer shortly afterward. "Super Sage" is 3-1 in the Octagon, most recently besting Enrique Marin by unanimous decision at UFC 200. His sole blemish came courtesy of a Bryan Barberena arm-triangle choke in January.

UFC on FOX 22 is scheduled for Dec. 17 at Golden 1 Center. The bout is the first to be attached to the event.
