Lions' Solomon Elimimian claims 2nd Most Outstanding Defensive Player Award

BC Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian was named the CFL's 2016 Most Outstanding Defensive Player on Thursday evening, winning the award for the second time in his career.

Elimimian, who also claimed the award in 2014 when he was named the league's Most Outstanding Player, beat out Montreal Alouettes linebacker Bear Woods - the runner-up in 2014, as well.

It was a very productive season for Elimimian, who led the league with 129 tackles (three more than Woods) and set a career high with eight sacks.

The 30-year-old is the only player in CFL history to have won three different individual awards, as he was also named Rookie of the Year in 2010.
