NBA All-Star weekend could be making its way to northern Calfornia in the near future.

According to team president Chris Granger, the Sacramento Kings are "pushing hard" to host the 2020 NBA All-Star game, James Ham of the CSN Bay Area reports.

Sacramento has recently opened a new arena this season, and will undoubtedly be using the "Golden 1 Center" in their pitch to host the special weekend.

The Kings have yet to host an All-Star event since moving to Sacramento in 1985, and are one of just five franchises to never hold the event.

Sacramento have been void of talent for the last decade, and a successful weekend could go a long way in attracting free agents to sign with the Kings.

The NBA has yet to announce which team will host the 2019 All-Star game, so it could be a while before the Kings find out whether their pitch is successful.
