On Monday night, the Miami Marlins returned to the field for the first time since the sudden death of pitcher Jose Fernandez, who was killed in a tragic boating accident Sunday morning.
Fernandez was remembered by fans and teammates, while the only club he ever played for promised to retire his No. 16 in memory of his remarkable career which abruptly came to an end after Sunday's fatal crash.
The event was jam-packed full of heart-breaking emotion for the 24-year-old, some of which was captured in a few brilliant photos.
