Pacers' Turner will go through concussion protocol

Indiana Pacers sophomore Myles Turner will be placed under the league's concussion protocol after catching an elbow during workouts.

It's unclear as to whether Turner will be cleared to practice during training camp.

The 20-year-old Turner emerged as a pivotal player for the Pacers during his rookie year. He averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 22.8 minutes per game while flashing some potential as a future stretch-five who can protect the basket.

Having lost incumbent starter Ian Mahinmi to free agency, Turner will be counted upon for heavy minutes at the five in a revamped Pacers side this upcoming season.
