Philadelphia Phillies rookie outfielder Tyler Goeddel has been diagnosed with a concussion after taking a Chris Beck fastball to the helmet against the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday, according to Matt Gelb of the Philly Inquirer.

He'll be further evaluated tomorrow in New York City, according to The News Journal's Meghan Montemurro.

Goeddel was hit by a 93-mph fastball on a 1-0 count in the sixth inning. The impact instantly knocked Goeddel's helmet off his head and dropped the 23-year-old to the floor.

Goeddel, who never lost consciousness during the incident, was removed from the game and replaced by Odubel Herrera.
