Oregon State lands 4-star SG Ethan Thompson

Oregon State landed a huge piece for its 2017 recruiting class Monday as four-star shooting guard Ethan Thompson committed to the program.

Thompson's decision to join the Beavers comes as no shock as his father Stephen is currently an assistant on Wayne Tinkle's staff, and his brother Stephen Thompson Jr. is currently on the roster.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pounder is ranked as the 13th-best shooting guard in his recruiting class and is listed 51st on the ESPN 100. His commitment is the first of the 2017 class for the Beavers, and represents the highest-ranked recruit since 2010 for the program.

Thompson chose Oregon State over Syracuse and Stanford.
