Johnson punches out Poirier with 1st-round knockout
Michael Johnson silenced any questions about his boxing skills in dramatic fashion.
"The Menace" clobbered Dustin Poirier with a counter combination to win by first-round knockout in the lightweight main event of UFC Fight Night 94 in Hidalgo, Texas on Saturday.

The KO was particularly sweet for Johnson after being soundly out-struck by Nate Diaz in his most recent fight last December. There was no hesitation as Johnson stood toe-to-toe with Poirier, and he was rewarded with his first win via strikes in almost three years. The end of the bout came 95 seconds into Round 1.
Johnson snapped a two-fight losing streak and has now won five of his last seven bouts. At Friday's weigh-ins, he declared himself to be "The Grim Reaper." His performance on Saturday certainly lived up to that billing.
For Poirier, it was a stunning defeat, as he was knocked out for just the second time in 25 fights. The loss also put the brakes on a flawless 4-0 run at lightweight for Poirier since he moved up from the 145-pound division last April.
