As if Saturday's matchup between No. 3 Ohio State and No. 14 Oklahoma wasn't big enough, the Sooners' backup quarterback Austin Kendall added fuel to the fire Wednesday night.
Appearing on a local television program, Kendall was asked by the host what he had seen so far on tape, and responded with blunt honesty.
"I think they have a really basic defense, and we can go out there and Baker (Mayfield) will light them up," the redshirt freshman said of the Buckeyes' defense, which has yet to allow a touchdown through two games.
The comments add an interesting subplot to the game, but barring an injury to Mayfield, Kendall is unlikely to see any game action to face the music for his thoughts.
