Highly touted Miami freshman Dewan Huell was arrested late Tuesday for battery following an incident with his ex-girlfriend.

Huell reportedly walked into his ex-girlfriend's dorm room at FIU without invite, according to a police report obtained by Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ. Upon arriving, Huell found the woman and another man hiding in the closet. The report says he then dragged the man by his shirt out of the room, leaving him with scratches on his chest and neck.

"I am aware of the reported incident involving Dewan Huell last night and we are still gathering information," athletic director Blake James said in a statement. "I have very high expectations for all of our student-athletes, as I know coach Larranaga does for his team, and any misconduct will be addressed."

The Miami native was a huge commitment for the Hurricanes' class of 2016, ranking as the seventh-best power forward in the country and the 28th player overall on the ESPN 300. Larranga was travelling when the news broke, but said he would investigate immediately.

"I just got back, and am planning to meet with Dewan and find out what happened," Larranaga told Michelle Kaufman of the Miami Herald. "Dewan is a terrific kid and we will deal with this once we have all the information.
