Report: Howard released from hospital after suffering from dehydration
Dwight Howard was reportedly hospitalized late Sunday after experiencing possible symptoms of dehydration during a flight to Atlanta, sources told Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Hawks' new center apparently began feeling ill on the plane and was taken to hospital, where he received treatment. He was released on Monday morning, according to the AJC.
Howard, who was recently in China promoting his new Hawks-inspired DH2 shoe, signed a three-year, $70.5-million deal with his hometown team during the offseason - a move the former All-Star described as a "new beginning."
A three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard's disappointing run in Houston came to an end in July when the 30-year-old big man declined his $23.2-million player option for the 2016-17 season.
In 71 games last year, Howard averaged 13.7 points, the lowest since his rookie season, along with 11.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 32.1 minutes.
