Report: Ray's lung deflated not punctured, out just 4-6 weeks

Toronto Argonauts quarterback Ricky Ray will be out 4-6 weeks with a partially deflated lung and fractured rib, sources told TSN's Matthew Scianitti, a much better prognosis then a season-ending punctured lung that was originally reported Thursday.

The 36-year-old was reported out for the year with the injury suffered in the Labour Day loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but the Argos declined to confirm that prognosis.

While it appears a return for Ray is likely this season, Toronto will be without its star as they embark on the stretch run to the playoffs. Backup Dan LeFevour will start for the Argos in the return engagement with Hamilton this weekend, but the team may be looking for some help at the position going forward.

TSN's Gary Lawless reported earlier Friday that Drew Willy of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Kevin Glenn of the Montreal Alouettes could be potential additions to the Argos for the remainder of the campaign.

Toronto currently sits third in the East division with a record of 4-6, and have lost four in a row heading into the weekend.
