Venezuela went into Tuesday evening's clash with Argentina sitting firmly in the basement of CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying, boasting just a single point compared to 14 for the table-topping Argentines.

On paper, the contest offered little in the way of intrigue.

Then Juanpi did his best to remind everyone why cliches about actually playing the games exist. The 22-year-old, who plays his club football with Malaga, opened the scoring in the 35th minute with an absolute laser that flew into the top corner of Sergio Romero's goal.
