Rashford stars for England U-21s, extends impressive debuts record
Marcus Rashford is making a career out of good first impressions.
Rashford led England to a 6-1 win over Norway in UEFA Under-21 qualifying Tuesday, striking a hat-trick on his debut for Gareth Southgate's lot.
His first goal added to his perfect record on first occasions, and it was a fine effort in its own right.
Rashford ran on to a defence-splitting pass before opening the scoring with a confident finish.
The 18-year-old is on a roll in his first year as a professional. He has now scored on his Europa League and Premier League debuts with Manchester United, in his first senior appearance for the Three Lions, and now for the Under-21s.
He potted a second goal 21 minutes after the interval to the delight of Sam Allardyce, who was in attendance in Colchester to watch the European qualifier, and capped a virtuoso performance with a rocket of a penalty towards the end of the match.
