The San Francisco 49ers released Bruce Miller on Monday, hours after the veteran fullback was reportedly arrested on charges of assaulting two men.

Miller attempted to check into a local hotel on Sunday night, but was turned away because there were no vacancies, KTVU's Michelle Toy reports, citing San Francisco police sources. The 29-year-old returned Monday morning, knocked on the door of a hotel room, and was informed by a male guest inside that he had the wrong room.

Miller then reportedly attacked the man who answered the door, as well as the man's 70-year-old father, who was also in the room. The father reportedly suffered broken bones in the altercation. Both victims were taken to hospital.

The charges against Miller include battery and assault with a deadly weapon, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.

It's the second troubling incident of alleged violence involving Miller this year. Miller allegedly shoved his fiancee's face into the ground during an argument and broke her phone in March and was arrested for spousal battery. The charges were later reduced to misdemeanor vandalism.
