Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah doesn't expect big things from former teammate Calvin Johnson as he embarks on the next phase of his career - participating on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

"Good god," Abdullah told reporters after learning Johnson will be on the show. "He's going to do awful."

Johnson was never one to dance after scoring touchdowns, and his low-key personality doesn't match the bombastic personalities of recent NFL-to-DWTS participants Von Miller and Antonio Brown.

No active NFL player has ever won DWTS, but three retired players - Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, and Donald Driver - have taken home the top prize. It seems there is some crossover between being able to run pass routes and performing a choreographed dance routine.

Johnson retired from the NFL at age 30 earlier this year.
