The next few days could be important ones in determining the future of Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, who is playing at Triple-A Oklahoma City after an Aug. 2 demotion.

With rosters set to expand Thursday, the embattled, and sometimes controversial, Cuban could be called up to the big-league squad, or even traded after he was placed on revocable waivers.

The 25-year-old touched on his time in the minors Monday, including where he envisions himself in the future, in conversation with ESPN's Marly Rivera.

"Watching the Dodgers being in first place, it's very difficult," Puig said. "The moment I arrived in L.A., people were crazy for me - 50-60 thousand people (cheering) at the stadium. I got used to that amount of fans. Getting to Triple-A and not seeing as many fans is not very appealing or fun to play baseball, but this is what I have to do for my future."

Puig has hit well in Triple-A, with a .369/.414/.631 slash line, four home runs, and 12 RBIs, but he still managed to grab the wrong kind of attention after sharing a night out partying with his teammates on social media.

"(Playing in the minors) is something that has taught me humility, and I am very grateful," he said. "I do not know what the future will hold in the next few hours. I don't know where I will go. I don't know my fate. God only knows my destiny, and I am here to fulfill it. He gave me many opportunities, the way (the Dodgers) did, and I put myself in this situation."

Puig went on to explain he's learned from his mistakes and doesn't intend to replicate them.

"I keep hitting. I'm behaving. I'm doing the work I have to do," he said. "What I did wrong before and I have been doing better the last two or three weeks that I've been here. (Being called up) does not depend on me. All I can do is try to improve what I did wrong, the things that got me sent me here. The rest does not depend on me, that's (a decision for) the GM, the president. Only God knows where I will end up."

Puig is hitting just .260/.320/.386 with seven home runs and 34 RBIs in the bigs.
