Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli's owner, welcomed the 21-year-old with a series of tweets, writing, as translated by FourFourTwo: "After passing the medical examination, we can finally announce the acquisition of another great player for Napoli.

"A purchase that enriches a midfield into one of the most complete possible, which will give the skillful hand of (coach Maurizio Sarri) a chance to use multiple forms, from a midfield three to a midfield two depending on the teams in Italy and Europe. Welcome to Napoli, Rog."

Rog bid farewell to Dinamo on Saturday, saying: "I am really happy because I got the opportunity to sign for this great club. On the other hand, it is hard to leave Dinamo and Zagreb. I've spent a wonderful year here, we won the double, played in the Champions League group stage, and qualified for the UCL group stage (a) few days ago.

"I would like to wish to my former teammates all the best. This is a huge step in my football career. I would like to thank Dinamo for everything, my future is in (a) Napoli jersey."

Rog made one appearance for Croatia at Euro 2016, as he was introduced as a defensive helper in the midfield during the Vatreni's phenomenal victory over Spain.
