Baltimore Ravens tight end Ben Watson left Saturday's preseason game against the Detroit Lions after suffering a torn Achilles, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Watson went down on a non-contact play in the opening series of the game and was helped off the field by trainers.
The veteran, who signed a two-year deal with the Ravens in the offseason, would miss the entire season with the reported injury, leaving Crockett Gilmore and Maxx Williams to fight for snaps.
At 35, Watson faces a tough road ahead of him in rehabbing the injury. The former first-round pick of the New England Patriots has enjoyed a solid 12-year career in the NFL.
