Yoenis Cespedes isn't planning on going anywhere, just ask him.

The New York Mets slugger revealed Wednesday that he plans to remain in Queens for the remainder of his contract instead of exercising his opt-out clause to return to free agency after this season.

The Record's Matt Ehalt asked Cespedes if he plans to stay with the Mets through the end of his three-year, $75-million contract in 2018, and the 30-year-old succinctly replied, "Yes," according to NorthJersey.com's Bob Klapisch.

Cespedes then added that right now he's only concentrating on "helping the team win so we can hopefully make it to the playoffs."

This isn't the first time this season that Cespedes has mused about remaining with the Mets, where he broke out as a star after arriving last July and serving as a catalyst for the team's surprise World Series appearance. In May of this year the Cuban told Anthony DiComo of MLB.com that he "could spend the rest of my career with this team."

Cespedes has fallen off of his MVP-like pace from earlier this season, - his first full campaign in New York - but he's still providing the Mets with a productive middle of the order bat despite a few stints on the disabled list. He continues to lead his team in virtually every offensive category, including home runs (25) and OPS (.936).
