Tre Mason's mother blames son's erratic behavior on football
Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason's career appears to be taking a turn for the worst.
Mason's summer has been marred by numerous indiscretions, including an incident where he was cited for illegally riding an ATV vehicle. The running back was briefly considered missing in action after not reporting to training camp, but was found nearly a week later at his mother's house.
Police confronted Mason at his house, and implored him to concentrate on football, where Mason's mother, Tina, vehemently disagreed.
"No, actually he shouldn't because this is the football that drives everybody that no one even knows about. He gets knocked around and everything else. There's CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) and this head-injury thing. You can say he should be playing football, but this is not what it is. After the offseason, clearly we could see the change, like, completely," Tina said in a video obtained by TMZ Sports.
CTE can only be diagnosed after a person dies.
Mason is expected in court on Aug. 30.
