Report: Karlos Williams visiting Jets

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

Free-agent running back Karlos Williams, who was released Saturday by the Buffalo Bills, is visiting the New York Jets on Tuesday, sources told Sal Capaccio of WGR 550.

Despite producing an impressive rookie campaign, the Bills cut ties with the second-year back due to an impending four-game suspension and conditioning issues.

The 23-year-old went unclaimed on waivers following his release.

The Jets have Matt Forte set to start, but with his injury history and a lack of proven backups, it could be a smart move to bring Williams in.

The fifth-round pick rushed for 517 yards on 93 attempts and seven touchdowns in 2015.
