Watch: Mom battling cancer sees son hit HR in LLWS
The Little League World Series captured a special moment on Friday, as Iowa's J.T. Garcia hit a home run while his mother - Jen - was being interviewed.
What makes the story heartfelt is that Jen is currently battling pancreatic cancer, and when her son hit the home run, her reaction was something to be remembered. Moments before he did it, she was telling ESPN how grateful she was to be there.
"It was very important for me to make the trip and be able to watch the entire team play," Jen told ESPN. "They have really come together and become a family."
That led to her reaction after the home run.
"Wow to be caught on camera, that was amazing," she said.
All of the players on Iowa have been wearing purple bracelets in support of Jen, who continues her courageous battle.
